Topics: “Incident at the Bambini run, health day for teaching staff, continuation of FlexModules”
Dear parents,
Today I would like to inform you about an incident that occurred during the Bambini run of our first and second classes.
The run is designed so that we have a good view of the entire route – from start to finish. A colleague accompanies the students during the run to ensure their safety in the best possible way.
Unfortunately, our students were filmed by a passer-by at the start. Our colleagues politely asked him to refrain from doing so. Despite this request, the man continued filming and tried to film our students during the run after the start signal. Again, our colleaguesasked him to refrain from doing so.
When the man did not stop and continued to follow the pupils, the colleagues took over the situation, stopped the man and immediately called the police. The officers took the man to the police station. The pictures and videos he had taken on his cell phone were deleted.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks for the commitment and prudence of my colleagues, who acted quickly and responsibly in this situation to protect the safety and well-being of our pupils. It is very important to us that all children feel safe and secure at our school. Especially in situations where the personal well-being of our pupils could be at risk, we always act with the utmost care and a sense of responsibility.
I would also like to inform you that a health day on the subject of resilience and burnout prevention will be held at the Mierendorff School on May 28. There will be no lessons on this day. In order to enable as many colleagues as possible to participate and to ensure the quality of our care, we ask you not to send your child to emergency care if possible. An exact query as to who needs emergency care will follow.
We were also able to successfully continue many of the Flex modules (AGs) and offer contracts to numerous module leaders as part of our school trial. At the same time, we are in negotiations with other providers to develop additional interesting offers for our school.
Thank you for your understanding, your support and the trust you have placed in us. Together, we will do everything we can to protect our students in the best possible way and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Yours sincerely
Andreas Schnelle
