At Mierendorff Primary School, some classes work according to the Chur model.
This concept strengthens your children’s independence and personal responsibility.
This is how it works: Every lesson starts in a circle. Here we discuss the tasks together. The children then choose their own workstation. The desks are arranged so that concentrated work is possible.
The advantages:
- Your child learns to take responsibility for their learning
- Individual support is possible – each child works at their own pace
- Growing independence and self-confidence
- We as teachers have more time for personal support
We are continuously developing the model and are in contact with two other elementary school in Berlin. This allows us to learn from each other and introduce new ideas into the classroom.
